OUR HOLIDAY WINDOW !! I called upon a dear friend, Kitty Leech, to see if she would be willing to design our Holiday Window. Not having to be asked twice, she incorporated her artist talents with her love of doll making and created the 2003 Fairytale Calendar. This incredibly detailed task took over a year to complete. A labor of love and joy…The Holiday Season brings out the “child” in all of us. Her window is featured from November 23, 2002 thru January 4, 2003. Our Best Wishes to All…have a wonderful holiday! About the Photographs Several years ago, I started photographing the Engelpuppen dolls for fun, and making the photos into calendars. The first year I made four, one for one for my mother, one for my sister, one for my friend Mary and one for myself. Over the years, more and more people began asking if they could “have one too”. Last year I made fifty. This year when I decided to do the series of photos on a Fairytale theme, all sorts of people began to volunteer to help on various aspects, making costumes, and props, and searching out and providing locations. Before you know it, not only had I enlisted family and friends, but also students and colleagues from New York University, several fellow costume designers, a set designer and even a farmer. The completion of this project, which seemed daunted at the outset, was made possible by the talents and skills of a wide range of people, of all ages, in different geographic locations. I am grateful for their support and friendship.
